If you have been running previously or doing other high cardiovascular (heart rate) aerobics, it is okay to still do them, just at a lower key because you had done them before you were pregnant. Just inform your care provider that you are continuing with your previous routine.
If you would like to continue with your regular routine and you attend a gym, please be aware of how high your heart rate is when doing cardiovascular exercises. It can be quite dangerous if it is too high. Always speak to your doctor if you have any questions.
Exercises to avoid would be anything to do with skiing (whether water skiing or downhill). If you fall, it can cause serious abdominal damage. If you like horseback riding, unfortunately it is not recommended as well because of the bouncing around, which can cause a lot of damage. Your doctor will also have a couple of things that he/she does not recommend you doing, so please listen because it could cause you your health or the health of the baby.
Important exercising tips:
1. A great bra that gives you support is a good start.
2. Make sure you are comfortable in your clothes, nothing to tight.
3. Shoes that fit and are comfortable are very important, especially when you are pregnant.
4. Drink lots of fluids and keep your body hydrated.
5. Breathe deeply and consistently.
6. Don’t overexert yourself. Keep your heart rate at steady pace.
7. Make sure you stretch! Don’t stretch lying down on your back. Do this standing or sitting. It is not recommended by doctors to do ab exercises lying down either, so check with your care provider please.
8. If you are experiencing something odd (vaginal bleeding, cramping, shortness of breath, dizziness or anything that seems unusual to you), stop immediately what you are doing. If this continues, contact your physician.
Pregnancy is a beautiful time, so enjoy it. Just be careful when you are exercising. Remember that your doctor is only a phone call away.

Is it possible to build a strong, muscular body working out in my own house? Or joining a gym is the only way to achieve it. That’s the question a lot of folks do and I got and answer for that. Of course you can do it and it doesn’t matters if it’s your house or a gym where you are training.
You may have a lot of reasons to not want to go to a gym. It doesn’t matters. Whatever your reason, there are still a lot of options if you want to workout and have huge muscles. And, as I told you, your home may be the best gym for you.
There are guys who like a lot doing the workout in their own house. They have their gym just down (or up) the stairs waiting for them. And they don’t spend their time trying to go there and back.
I could listen to whatever music I wanted to, as loud as I wanted to without having to worry about those around me. I could grunt, yelp and scream through my sets if I was in the mood without disturbing anyone (hey, squatting to failure isn’t easy okay?) or train shirtless if I felt like it.
The best is, when you finished the hard work, you don’t have to spend more time driving home. That’s the last thing you want after all the effort your workout needed.
The only real disadvantage is that your exercise selection will decrease because you won’t have access to certain pieces of machinery such as a leg press or calf machine. You can purchase certain machines if you have the money to spend and plan on training at home over the long term, but for the majority of people this simply won’t be possible.
Even so, that’s no bad at all. Ok, that machinery makes your workout easier, but if you don’t have that equipment there are still forms to perform similar routines (freeweight substitutions). A proper bodybuilding routine does not require the use of any fancy equipment.
The basic equipment that your home gym should contain is: a) An adjustable barbell with freeweight plates. b) Adjustable dumbbells. c) A bench with incline adjustments. d) A chin-up bar. e) A squat rack.
If you can’t afford a squat rack then you’ll have to be creative. The bottom line is that you must have some sort of apparatus that will allow you to safely unrack a loaded bar and drop the bar onto a safety catch (or the floor) if your strength gives out during the lift.
