If you make international business trips and carry a laptop computer than PC-to-Phone service is a great way to stay connected while on the road. As long as you have an INTERNET connection, you can make cheap international calls from any location to other computers or to any phone in the world. Calls to other computers using the same PC-to-Phone software are often Free while there is a charge for placing calls to phones (landlines or cell phones). The rates vary depending on the country and the type of phone called but rates are much lower than those charged by international hotels or long distance carriers. PC-to-Phone service is also popular with students, expats and people who operate small businesses with an international focus.
PC-to-Phone service providers continue to add new features that make their product more flexible and convenient to use. For example, Skype, one of the most popular PC-to-Phone service providers, offers free calls to other Skype users and the following added features.
- Low rates on calls to landlines and cell phones.
- An online phone number so people can reach you on Skype from any phone.
- The ability to send text messages from Skype.
- A built in Voice Mail feature so calls are never missed.
- Call forwarding that forwards incoming calls to a regular phone when the user is off-line.
- Mobile applications so Skype can be used from Mobile Phones.
Skype has continued to innovate and add features in order to broaden the appeal of their service.
We think Skype is a great option for people who want to make free calls to other Skype users. However, Skype’s international rates on calls to landlines and cell phones are not as low as other cheap international calling options. In addition to a per-minute charge for each call, Skype also charges a connection fee for each call made to a land-line or cell phone. In order to evaluate the relative cost of making international calls to landlines or cell phones with Skype, we compared the international rates charged by Skype to those charged by Tel3Advantage for the same call from the USA. Tel3Advantage was selected for this comparison since it is a high quality prepaid calling plan that can be used to make low cost domestic or international long distance calls from any phone without changing companies and it is very popular with those who make frequent international calls from the USA or Canada.

*For calls originating in the USA – Rates posted on the respective company websites on January 23, 2010.
In general, it seems that rates charged by Skype on calls to landlines and cell phones are higher than those charged by prepaid long distance providers. This makes sense since they do not make money of the free Skype-to-Skype calls they provide or the free software people can download from their website. They do provide a high quality niche service that is ideal for a segment of the market but it is not the best option for everyone.

Persons Who Necessitate Extra Control Over Everything Should Get Virtual Or Personal Server
Servers are used in support of a variety of reasons. A Server is only a CPU which works like a task master, managing a huge number of network requests, several jobs, files, and procedures, and often providing disk storage. Other frequently than not, they are usually employed for network hosting solutions.
Whether you require something to supervise information storage space, host a web site, or process electronic mail for an domestic network, servers can ’serve’ a range of functions. They can confirm pretty multitalented and utile where required. Web hosting servers are normally configured in three contributions: shared hosting, virtual, and dedicated. Shared web hosting is very common most recently as it has become easy to implement and very inexpensive. Websites on a public hosting resolution every one handle the uniform IP and share system resources. Virtual servers, alternatively, are individual ‘virtual’ entities on the system which perform like their own individual servers, where they each take delivery of their own share of resources. Lastly, dedicated servers operate the entire application and own access to all the system’s resources.
Yet again, people can harvest lots of benefits from invention of their own web servers. Initially you can become skilled a lot on the internet and web hosting by setting up your own individual server. It can often take a little troubleshooting to get possessions operational the means you need. You also own the power to organize the whole thing. Through today’s technology, effectively any workstation can be setup and formed as a server, while not the whole systems are designed specifically for that reason. The usual computer system will bear out the required server software; yet some possessions should be taken into concern: enough cooling, storage setting, power supplies, sufficient memory and resources, and processing power among other things.
On the way to setup your particular web server you will also need the right server software. Server software is obtainable commercially, however a lot of the open-sourced solutions can be found for free. A vast list exists for server software options; however, home-based users may want to judge such software as: Ubuntu Server Edition, FreeBSD, Red Hat Linux, FreeNas, Debian, and Windows Home Server. Basically the last selection can be had for free of charge. To organize a home computer as a web server is one thing but setting it up as a file server as well? Through so many users demanding more and more memory, hard drive space, it simply makes sense to setup a file storage space way out inside your own home.
Every person has their own purposes for setting up personal servers. You can just have an old workstation lying around that could be put to better use.
As a final point, on the way to setup your own web server you should be concerned about the components eg. Seagate Cheetah 600 GB SAS hard drive, Intel 350 Watt Power Supply, HP-COMPAQ SERVER SYSTEM BOARD etc.

Keep Your Digital Signage Software Secure
The rise of digital signage as the interactive advertising of choice probably stems from the impersonal way that people now interact with each other. While no medium can offer the complete experience of face to face interaction, other forms of communication are fast becoming the norm. This includes email messaging, texting, instant messaging, tweeting and so forth, all of which do not really require human interaction. People have just become more used to the impersonality of such methods, making digital signage even more appealing, especially with the younger crowd.
The rapid growth in this segment has been noticed by a large number of advertisers, and this is one of the primary reasons that the usage of touch screens is finding an increasing number of takers. However, a user should be aware of the fact that these displays contain more than just the hardware, and they also come with software which needs to be used effectively in order to make the most of this new technology.
Although using the appropriate hardware is essential, it is equally important that you have a foolproof system in place that does not leave your hi-tech system vulnerable to hackers. While this is something that not many executives or mangers care to think about, you should know that, just as advertising technology, hacking technology has also evolved in leaps and bounds.
Hacking is no longer limited to innocent pranks and individual operators, and hackers today can often be found working in groups, very much like an organized racket of the yore. Their motive is to get access to sensitive data, which they then use to make large sums of money. A company’s digital displays’ operating system provides an easy entry point into the company’s systems for any probable hacker.
This is why keeping the software for your digital signage secure is very important. The more security that you offer, the greater are the chances of prospective advertisers wanting to use your services, and this is because advertisers today are an informed lot, and they are aware of the threats that are present in today’s technological sphere.
Ease of use also plays a huge factor when choosing the right digital signage software to power your new digital signage hardware. While hard coded controls built into the hardware and linked to proprietary software does make for a very secure system, this means that you must now rely on the people who created your digital signage software to manage your data. Instead of empowering you and your new empire, you are instead held in thrall by the people who maintain it.
For this reason you should get digital signage software that is easy to use and access. Internet browser based systems do open up more digital security vulnerabilities, but the right digital signage software should be secure enough to offer this accessibility, as it provides you with more functionality over what goes onto your multiple displays in their various locations.
If you need any more information about software that can be used for digital signage, simply log on to www.riseVision.com. This will give you information about a variety of options which offer you high security as well as easy accessibility features, thereby giving you total control over your digital signage.

How to Make Cheap International Calls to Cell Phones
Many people want to make cheap international calls to cell phones and there are several options available today. The best or cheapest option depends on several factors so one option is not the best for every caller. Things like the location of the caller, the destination called and the type of phone the caller intends to use (land line, INTERNET or cell phone) are all important factors to consider when shopping for the international service. Most people are looking for an option that is high quality, cheap and convenient to use so we reviewed the pros and cons of a few popular options. These included two International VoIP calling plans, a PC-to-Phone service, a popular prepaid long distance phone service and a high quality phone card. The results of our review are presented below.
Several VoIP service providers now advertise that they include free international calls to several countries with their phone service. Vonage and Lingo offer two of the most popular VoIP services. In most cases, the free calls included with these plans are to landlines not cell phones, as shown later; in most cases, international calls to cell phones are not cheap with these plans. Vonage indicates that they include free calls to 60 countries with their new Vonage World plan and Lingo advertises that free calls to 75 countries are included with their Lingo World Max service. Vonage charges around $32.60 per month (including taxes and fees) for their service and Lingo charges about $31 per month (including fees and taxes). In addition to the monthly service fees, users also need to pay for a high-speed INTERNET connection so neither service is actually free. Both calling plans also require a service contract (Lingo requires 2 years and Vonage requires 1 year) and charge an early termination fee if a customer chooses to stop using the service, so they are not a convenient option for short-term users. However, both phone services are good quality and one of them may be a good deal for those who want low cost home phone service and the ability to make frequent international calls to one or more of the countries covered by their plans.
Skype offers a very popular personal computer based phone service. It can be used to make free PC-to-PC calls worldwide so it is very popular with students, international business travelers and expats living around the world. Skype can also be used as a PC-to-Phone service where users can make calls to landlines or cell phones from their PC but there is a fee for this service. As shown later, Skype PC-to-Phone rates are not that cheap and Skype is not a very convenient option since calls are made from a PC so we believe there are better and cheaper options for making international calls to cell phones.
Prepaid long distance is another option so we examined the Tel3Advantage Flex Plan, which is one of the most popular prepaid plans in North America. It can be used to make cheap long distance calls from any phone (cell, home, business or pay phone) in Canada and the USA. It is a popular service for making cheap international calls because it is convenient to use, offers some of the lowest rates and does not require a monthly fee or contract.
We wanted to compare the above options with the rates offered by a high quality phone card so we chose the Continental Phone Card. It can be used to make cheap calls from over 60 countries and is one of the most versatile phone cards on the market. It has low fees relative to other phone cards but it does charge a 15% tax (surcharge) on calls so we include this in the per-minute rates listed in the Table below. The continental card is a virtual phone card that can be used from any kind of phone. Customers get a free on-line account where they can monitor activity and make changes to their account so it is a viable long or short-term option.
We have summarized the rates charged each minute for calls originating from the USA using the options listed above in the following table. We randomly selected a variety of popular destinations in order to compare rates to different regions of the world. Note that Tel3Advantage offers rates that are similar to phone cards on calls to cell phones in most locations while both VoIP service providers and Skype charge significantly higher rates.

Virtual Phone Cards Offer Value and Features
Most consumers know that prepaid phone cards can be used to make cheap domestic and international long distance phone calls but many do not know that they also offer a full range of features. These features make them more convenient to use and a viable option for long term savings.
Consumers who purchase phone cards at supermarkets or convenience stores may be missing a lot of these features and may also be paying a higher rate for calls since it is very easy to shop and compare rates and features on-line. Many high quality phone card websites offer free search features which makes it very easy to find and compare phone cards from any location in the world. Phone cards can be safely purchased on-line and they are safely and conveniently stored in an on-line customer account.
Some of the common features found with high quality virtual prepaid phone cards are listed below.
- PIN Free dialing has become a common feature with many virtual phone cards. It allows a caller to register phone numbers so they do not need to enter a special code when making calls from a registered phone. The registered phone numbers can be conveniently edited in the customer’s on-line account.
- Many virtual phone cards feature a permanent PIN so the code does not change each time the phone card is re-charged or purchased. These permanent PIN phone cards are typically stored in an on-line account that can be accessed by a user from any INTERNET connection.
- Most permanent PIN phone cards also allow an optional automatic recharge function. Many users find this to be an attractive option since it assures that they will not run out of funds during a call and the card is always available for use.
- Many virtual phone cards come with a call history feature that tracks and stores the details of each call (including location, length of call and cost). The call history can be accessed through the customer’s on-line account. This is a very handy feature that is typically included with high quality phone cards.
- Many on-line phone cards include a Speed Dial feature. This allows the user to add phone numbers to their personal account so they can call these numbers by pressing 2 or 3 numbers on their phone. This is a convenient feature for those who plan to make international calls to the same phone numbers.
- Some on-line merchants allow customers to transfer funds between phone cards. This is a useful feature for users who call to or from multiple locations and want to use the phone card offering the best rates.
- Most on-line merchants have a handy search tool built into their website that allows shoppers to search for the best phone card for their needs. These search tools will list phone cards with the lowest rates for making calls to and from specific locations. In many cases they also provide phone card quality ratings and a summary of features, taxes and fees.
- Some on-line phone cards, like the continental card, can also be used to make conference calls, international callback calls from virtually any location in the world and to set-up personal toll free numbers in the USA.
There are virtual phone cards or prepaid calling plans like Tel3Advantage that offer many of the features listed above as well as some other not so common features. Tel3 offers a mobile plan where users can make direct-dial international phone calls from their Mobile Phones. With Tel3 Mobile, users do not need to dial an access number or PIN code when placing an international call. They simply dial the international code and their call is automatically routed over the low cost Tel3 network. Tel3 also offers a business calling plan with many on-line tools and features that are ideal for small to medium size business users. Tel3Advantage can be used to make cheap domestic and international long distance phone calls from Canada and the USA.
Phone cards have come a long way since their introduction in the 1970’s but companies like Tel3 and others continue to introduce new features and services so the virtual phone card of tomorrow will be even more useful than it is today.

Learning Management System Revolutionizing Education
The learning management system is evolving into a valuable resource. With the economy in turmoil, and H1N1 virus epidemic, continuity of education has become difficult among students of all ages. New Standardize reports results state that proficiency in mathematics within our schools are at a record low, and has California worried.
Due numerous cuts with in the schools, such as; an increase in termination of teaching jobs as well as a cut in programs from the curriculum, to ease budget issues, our student’s education is suffering. If standards are not met this could potentially mean disaster for California’s school system.
A solution is being sought after as to how we can create an alternative in the education system to resolve the budget crisis in California, and uphold the quality of content or standard of teaching. Learning management system (LMS) provides a solution to this problem by providing students with inexpensive software that provides content to the students and enables a way to track their learning and their progress within each course. Exposure to the web and technological advances could potentially stimulate a students’ learning and increase their comprehension in many different areas subject matters.
Not only does a learning management system provide an effective and cost efficient answer to the budget issues and learning content, but hinders continuous spreading of the H1N1 virus. Schools no longer need to worry about their students falling behind in their education or exceeding government regulated free days due to the precautions taken for their students’ health and safety. Distant learning provides a substitute to in “class learning” and furthers education advancements.
Resources such as online training could also play a major role in complying to visual, auditory, and kinetic learners, to increase effectiveness of learning. Innovators such as various Specialty Colleges and Universities have already established online training programs that provide their students with a way to receive their degree and pursue a higher education without the added stress of schedule complications.
California has teamed up with various organizations gifting the state millions of dollars towards school funding, and so the questions remains, how can we best utilize those funds to ensure that our students receive the best education that will enable them to participate higher education? Cheap International Calling: E-mail Triggered Callback Phone Service
International callback phone service is a good option for people who want to make calls from countries which impose a high tariff on international calls. It saves callers money by routing their international calls through low cost third countries like the USA, Canada or Western Europe. Unlike VoIP, PC-to-Phone and many phone cards, international callback can be used to make cheap international calls from any country.
International callback calls are triggered using different means depending on the product but the results are basically the same. The caller receives an international phone call from a low cost third country. After answering the call the caller can either place a low cost call through the callback service provider’s network by direct dialing the desired phone number or, in some cases, the call is automatically routed to the desired destination phone number. In either case, the caller can save a significant amount of money with international callback because they are receiving an international phone call not placing one from a high cost country.
One innovative type of international callback is e-mail triggered callback. This product is included as a very useful feature with the Continental Phone card. They refer to it as Web Call but we find this name a bit misleading. It implies that calls are made over the INTERNET but, in reality, it is a callback phone service where calls are initiated by sending a pre-formatted e-mail message. The calls are actually made over any standard land-line telephone or cell phone. Those interested in more details should visit the following page, Web Call.
The Continental Card is a very versatile phone card that can, among other things, be used to make cheap international calls from over 60 countries by calling an access number and placing a call. It can also be used to make conference calls, low cost VoIP or PC-to-Phone service and it can be used to set up a personal toll free phone number. The continental card can be used to fill a variety of telecom needs.

The Ideal Projector for Creating Your Own Home Theatre
In recent years, more people have been taking advantage of innovative technological developments that allows them to create a spectacular home theater system. When creating your own home theater, you have a variety of features to choose from such as the video projector. If you are designing and building a home theater, you have to consider what type of projector you should acquire.
There are three types of main home theater projectors that include LCD, DLP or LCoS. LCD projectors consist of two types: models that utilize a single LCD to produce the picture, and models that use a blend of three LCDs. The difference between the two is that the projectors that utilize three LCDs normally create higher contrast pictures and higher quality color distribution.
The benefit of using DLP projectors is that they create richer colors and higher contrast ratios. Quality DLP projectors use three DLP chips to create the picture which allows the projectors to determine greater degrees of color and shade. DLP projectors normally cost more than LCD models
LCoS utilize liquid crystals to produce the picture. LCoS projectors are well known for creating the best quality images. LCoS models are more expensive than DLP and LCD models.
If you are mainly using HDTV programming, most experts will advise that you use a 16:9 projector on a 16:9 screen. This combination will give the best picture viewing. Remote Controlled Toys: Some Great Tips For Purchasing Them
Kids have always gotten enjoyment from pushing a button or holding down a lever and watching their remote controlled toys race through the house on its own. Today, the excitement has captured children of all ages and grown adults as well because they will do flips, climb walls, sail over water, and fly in the air. Obviously, this is one constantly changing industry that will never go out of business.
Yet, with a growing market packed with different toys comes a few technical details that have to be considered before you make a purchase. You have to think through what is going to make your children or that child-like adult in your life happy in the long term.
The most obvious consideration is what type of remote controlled toy would be of the most interest to the person you are shopping for. It used to be rather simple to select from different colored cars that pretty much looked alike, but today there are more options. You can now purchase trucks of all makes and sizes, airplanes, boats that really sail through water, and helicopters that fly through the air.
You also have to think about how big you want your toy to be, which really brings your price range into question as well. You can still get smaller scale toys, but today’s market is all about bigger models that resemble the real vehicles more closely. Of course, you can expect to pay more for these larger models.
Going along with price and size is the consideration of power. Some larger models can be quite powerful, which brings up the issue of the battery life. While battery technology has come a long way, it is still not as efficient as many children would desire.
The biggest issues are with larger sized toys, since they require a lot more power to operate. The big issue is they cannot run for very long without the battery needing charged for at least a few hours. In general, you can get longer periods of use out of smaller toys that come with high quality, powerful batteries.
This is the reason most parents leave the larger models for older children who want them more as collector’s items or decorations than actual use. Smaller children are better suited to smaller toys with less power anyway.
It is no secret that the price of remote controlled toys is considerably higher than they were in the past. This is because more technology has gone into them, they tend to run faster, and most of them have done away with the wire that used to hold the vehicle to the remote. Also, many are tied to popular brand names, such as the Hummer.
